The Jacksonville Jaguars will be getting some new scoreboards to display their offensive explosions in the future. According to the AP, the Jacksonville City Council voted 14-2 on stadium upgrades that include $63 million in scoreboards that will be the biggest in the world:
Jacksonville’s city council approved funding for EverBank Field upgrades Tuesday night. The council voted 14-2 to authorize enhancements that include $63 million scoreboards, which are expected to be the largest in the world.
Construction is scheduled to begin in January, with an expected completion date in July. The scoreboards should raise the city’s profile in regards to bidding for the college football playoffs.
It’s also being reported that the city will put up $43 million and Jags owner Shad Khan will put up the other $20 million. They need to start letting the taxpayers vote on these sorts of things because I am willing to bet that if they don’t want to pay to go to the games, they definetly don’t want to fund a giant scoreboard to see 3 points displayed.
Who knows though, maybe they will end up with Johnny Manziel and have something to look at.
