The Richie Incognito, Jonathan Martin harassment case is providing many with the normal daily activities of an NFL lockerroom.
Some say Martin handled it properly. Other’s feel that Martin should have fought back and handled Incognito on his own.
Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver Dez Bryant refused to be hazed by Roy Williams as a rookie during the 2010 season, with Bryant refusing to carry William’s pad on several different occasion.
Williams eventually got the last laugh, when he tricked Bryant into paying $54,896 for a dinner tab at Pappa Bros. Steakhouse.
Monday night at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse, Bryant took the offensive players out, then Williams invited the defensive players and when the night was over the bill came: $54,896.
“They got the young fella,” said Bryant’s adviser David Wells. “What could he say? He had to pay it unless he wanted to wash dishes for a month.”
Players ordered basically everything on the menu and even took home bottles of wine.
Now almost four years later, ESPN Dallas has a nice story about an infamous Cowboys player, having a $54,000 dinner tab picked up by the owner of the team that loves said wide receiver a ton.
According to reports, during his weekly radio show, Jones who didn’t mention Bryant by name, spoke about a Cowboys player having a huge bill lowered by the restaurant.
“I’ve had to ask a couple of times, a couple of places out here to rethink, let’s say a liquor bill,” Jones said on KRLD-FM on Tuesday morning. “They’ve taken a rookie out and hung him with a huge liquor bill. I might tell you one of the finest businesses in this town who may have charged one of our rookies too much — well, a lot of money, they just absolutely took it off the bill and gave it to him. When he had an enormous, for any of our standards, charge, that business gave it to him. It was Pappa Steakhouse, to give you an idea. That’s having compassion. It was overdone, and they just decided we’ll make our contribution to the do-right rule here.”
According to an anonymous Cowboys player who attended that dinner, nobody chipped in to help Dez pay the tab, Jerry Jones just paid it himself.
“nobody paid, but from what I heard, Jerry picked it up.”
