Mike McCarthy: Aaron Rodgers May Not Be Ready In 10 days
I’ll believe this statement from Mike McCarthy when he believes that Matt Flynn is his best option in Green Bay.
The Packers were annihilated by the Detroit Lions 40-10 on Thanksgiving day. McCarthy needs Aaron Rodgers to be ready if the Packers have any shot of making the playoffs.
Even with 10 days of rest, McCarthy told ESPN.com that he wasn’t sure Aaron Rodgers would be ready to go when the Packers face the Falcons.
“I don’t know that,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Friday morning, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com. “I just know when we came off the field Wednesday that he wasn’t ready to play yet. So we’ll see how the testing goes, but it needs to be the right thing. I know he wants to play. I know he’s trying to gear up each and every week to play, but we’ll see what happens next week.”
It’s been 34 days since Rodgers fractured his clavicle.
At 5-6-1, the Packers season is done if Rodgers doesn’t start against the Falcons.
