The Lions were the same old Lions yesterday, laying an egg against a 3-6 Pittsburgh Steelers team that by all accounts they should have beaten handily.
Scoring 0 points in the 2nd half, there is some finger pointing that can go around the whole team in my personal opinion, but there was one player in particular who took some blame for his lackluster performance.
Running back Reggie Bush was held to just 54 yards on the day, and was noticeably benched for a long portion of the game after he fumbled early. While some thought perhaps the electric back was injured, Bush made it clear that it was a performance issue.
“Probably because I fumbled the ball. You turn the ball over, that’s what happens. I’ve been in this league long enough to know that. There is nobody to blame but myself,” Bush said, via the Detroit News.
Due to the tiebreaker, the Lions still hold the lead in the NFC North.
But if they have any hopes of winning it, games like this are a must-win. Hopefully they don’t lay another egg against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Ford Field next week.
