Report: Jets Interested In Ed Reed

NFL: Houston Texans at Baltimore Ravens

This is definitely a no brainer, but it will be interesting to see if Rex Ryan has enough pull to make this happen.

After being released by the Texans, and having the Ravens say no thank you, is it possible that Ed Reed could be reunited with his old Ravens defensive coordinator?

Jets coach Rex Ryan said “absolutely, yes” on Wednesday when asked if he’d like to have Reed on his team according to ESPN New York.

“The big picture of right now, the current football team, I’m probably not the right guy to make all those decisions,” Ryan said, via Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com. “I think sometimes there’s a comfort level in knowing guys, without question, guys that certainly played well for you. … I’d like those guys, without question.”

Ryan admitted that he has discussed Reed with General Manager John Idzik, who will ultimately make that decision, and Cimini reports that the Jets have reached out to Reed.
