Richard Sherman On Facing Roddy White: ‘What Challenge’ (Video)
Richard Sherman is the best corner in the game right now, and with that honor comes the opportunity to say whatever you like and back it up.
Sherman and Falcons wide receiver Roddy White don’t really like each other. In June, when White was named 39th on NFL Network’s list of top 100 players, Sherman said “White wasn’t deserving of a place on the list.”
That led to White saying that he doesn’t lose sleep over the idea of facing Sherman.
Thursday Sherman was asked about the Challenge of facing White, who has missed the last three games with a hamstring injury.
Sherman didn’t say much, but according to the Seattle Times, he doesn’t see White as a challenge either.
Asked Thursday if he looked forward to the potential challenge of facing White, Sherman responded: “What challenge?”
Asked at a different juncture if he is still mad at White, Sherman said: “Not really. I mean, you know, it’ll be a fun game for us, I guarantee you that.”
Then asked if the Seahawks would have more motivation for this game given what happened last season, Sherman said: “No, no. We are an 8-1 ballclub, they are a 2-6 ballclub.”
Sherman also said he felt as if the Seahawks should have beaten the Falcons last January.
“Frustration,” he said when asked his feeling as he walked off the field. “Frustration. Because we won and the score didn’t say we won.”
