Rob Ryan deserved a moment like this after Sunday nights beat down of the Dallas Cowboys.

Ryan was fired by Jerry Jones while on vacation this past off-season and replaced by Monte Kiffin.  When explaining why he switched coordinators and defensive philosophies, Jones stated that Ryan’s defensive scheme was just simply “to imaginative.”

“I’ve been real impressed with how well their defense is playing,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]. “It doesn’t surprise me. I think so highly of Rob Ryan as a coach, frankly, as an imaginative coach and how he imaginatively approaches the game.

“He can have a lot going on and we wanted less going on. But that doesn’t make it right or wrong. He’s basically implemented it and executed it the way he wants to do it down there and they’re going to give us fits Sunday.”

Sunday night, Ryan got the last laugh, as the Saints went out and embarrassed the Cowboys 49-17.

The Saints offense set an NFL-record with 40 first downs and a franchise-record 625 total yards. Ryan and his imaginative defense shutdown the Cowboys offense and limited them to only 193 total yards.

After the big win Ryan went to a local New Orleans bar called Ms. Maes, and celebrated by purchasing drinks for everyone.
