Usain Bolt London Olympics 2

After stealing the show at the World Championships earlier in the year, Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt was named World Athlete of the Year for the fifth time according to the BBC.

The 27-year-old Jamaican, who also won last year, clinched 100m, 200m and 100m relay gold in the World Championships in Moscow in August.

Fellow Jamaican Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce took the women’s award after winning the same three golds as Bolt in Russia.

Bolt, who beat Britain’s double world champion from Moscow Mo Farah to the award, became the most successful athlete in the history of the World Championships this year with his eighth gold and 10th medal in total.

Its been a rough year for sprinters after many of the big names in the sport have been linked to performance-enhancing drugs, but Bolt has been able to distance himself from the controversy.

In the past the Olympic record holder has hinted that the 2016 Games could be his swan song but at the awards ceremony in Monaco, he back off those statements a bit.

“I was having some talk about this with my coach, and he was saying people had said I should go for another year,” he said.

He is doped up to the gills anyone who wins any gold for sprinting is on PEDs. I can’t wait unit we see the Armstrong like collapse after the truth is revealed. Olympics have become a competition not for the athletes but for the scientists making the performance enhancing drugs.
