Even though the Auburn/Alabama rivalry is one for the ages, Alabama QB AJ McCarron announced that he would be cheering for the Tigers to beat the Seminoles in the BCS National Championship Game. Larry Brown Sports is reporting that is apparent that McCarron’s mom, Dee Dee feels the same way and isn’t afraid to let the world know it.
Dee Dee tweeted a picture of a Tre Mason t-shirt that she said she bought and will be wearing during the game on Jan 6th.
@TreMason21 welcome baby. Ordered shirts for game! Will be wearing this for you! pic.twitter.com/vCPEcTr3Uf

AJ said that over the Heisman weekend he got the opportunity to meet Tre Mason and his family and felt that it would be better for an SEC team to win the trophy over the Seminoles, who are in the ACC.
“Getting to know his mom and his dad and him, they’re great people. Like I said before, I’ll definitely be rooting for him in the national championship game.”
It’s a nice sentiment to respect your opposition, but I don’t know about actually cheering for the team that’s considered your arch rival no matter what the circumstances are. I’m sure Alabama fans can agree.
