Boise State’s Chris Petersen Withdraws Name From USC Coaching Search

NCAA Football: Boise State at San Diego State

We should have expected this.

Many schools have tried, they all seem to fail.  Joe Schad is reporting that Boise State head coach Chris Petersen has withdrawn his name from the USC coaching search after both parties showed mutual interest.

Petersen’s name has been mentioned in every big named coaching search over the past five years.

Petersen is in the midst of the worst season of his tenure — his Boise State team finished 8-4 this year, with a 6-2 conference record good for second place in the Mountain division of the Mountain West.

That tells you how valued he is.
