Former UFC heavyweight champion and WWE athlete, Brock Lesnar, has the internet swirling with rumors of his return to the octagon.
Lesnar retired from the UFC in December of 2011 after a brutal loss to Alistair Overeem. He struggled with diverticulitis, a digestive disease, his entire career in the UFC and in the end it didn’t allow him to train hard enough to compete against the best in the world.
Lesnar took time off to get his health in order and then signed a two-year deal with the WWE earlier this year. That deal can complicate a return to the UFC for Lesnar and make this a Vince McMahon vs Dana White situation. I’m not sure there’s a room big enough to hold those two egos simultaneously.
Lesnar will attend tomorrow night’s UFC 168 PPV event and it’s rumored that he will sit down with Dana White to discuss his options.
When asked about Lesnar at yesterday’s UFC 168’s media day White had this to say:
“Really?” “I don’t know. I honestly don’t know.”
“Honestly?” asked a reporter.
“Honestly,” White said with a smirk. “I don’t know.”
One thing we all know about Dana White is that money is his number one priority and Lesnar averaged 1 million PPV buys every time he headlined for the UFC.
