The New York Knicks dropped to 6-16 after losing another game, this time to the Boston Celtics on Friday.
A customary after every other loss this season, Carmelo Anthony was again full of quotes. Anthony told USA Today Sports that he’s been surprised the Knicks still aren’t clicking on one cylinder.
“I’ve never dealt with anything like this before,” Anthony said. “For me, I’ve got to keep focusing on the next game, the next day and stay positive.
“I’m very surprised. I’m very surprised, just at the fact that we’re not clicking. We’re out of sync. That’s where the surprise comes from.”
The Knicks have fewer victories than the Charlotte Bobcats, Cleveland Cavaliers, Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers.
Every team on that list besides the Knicks has aspiration of Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker. Those teams could care less about winning now.
Even if the Knicks secured a top pick in the draft, they wouldn’t own the pick to use anyway.
“We’re a veteran team,” Anthony said. “We should know how to win games down the stretch and get stops and get buckets. Once we figure that out, we’ll get over the hump.”
