Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams was supposed to compete for an MVP and a Championship this season. Instead, Williams has been injury prone, and a middle of the pack point guard at best this season.
If the Nets are going to do anything to change their fortunes, it’s going to have to come on the back of D-Will, formerly top five point guard in the game.
Williams told the New York Post that he has to play better in order for the Nets to truly prosper.
“I need to play better,” Williams said. “I need to be more aggressive for us to have a chance, especially with Brook going down.”
But when Williams was asked if he’d been doing that recently after appearing to play tentatively throughout Saturday’s loss, Williams’ response was to the point.
“No,” he said.
When asked what needs to happen for that to change, he responded, “I just have to be more aggressive.”
