Doc Rivers is the ultimate optimist, so it shouldn’t have been surprising when he blamed the lack of two other title rings on unfortunate circomstances.
Rivers and theCeltics won the 2008 title and very nearly won again in 2010. Kevin Garnett’s health prevented a repeat of that run in 2009, causing Rivers to say that the Celtics would have won two more had Garnett not been hurt.
Doc: "I swear if Kevin would've been healthy, we would've won two or three in a row."

“I swear if Kevin would’ve been healthy, we would’ve won two or three in a row,” said Rivers on Wednesday ahead of his return to Boston.
“I wish it could have ended better,” said Rivers.
