Shocker… Mayweather won’t fight Manny Pacquiao on May 3rd. We would’ve heard of negotiations and leaked info from both camps in regards to a Money May vs Pac-man fight.

The question that remains is who will have the dubious honor of getting embarrassed by Mayweather in the ring?

According to MLive.com from David Mayo Floyd will announce his opponent as soon as next week; my guess is that the announcement will come at the weigh-in of the Adrien Broner vs Marcos Maidana fight on December 14th. Golden Boy promotions usually uses these platforms to drive last minute buzz for a fight.

When asked about fighting Manny Pacquiao in May Floyd had this to say,

“Who?”

The leader for the spot has been Amir Khan. Khan has just as loud of a mouth as Floyd and would bring in a European audience. Khan’s chin is flimsy at best and would be a perfect KO candidate for Floyd, which would surely push his September fight sales through the roof.

The underdog in these negotiations may be Danny Garcia. Garcia is great at playing the underdog role and has so far upset every “favorite” that stepped into the ring with him. Danny’s father, Angel, is an amazing trainer and his mouth will surely stir up some controversy heading into a fight with the Mayweathers.

If Floyd fights Amir Khan, I will not buy that pay-per-view. Tell Floyd to stop fighting tomato cans and fight some real fighters.
