Jerry Jones a few weeks ago said the reason Rob Ryan was fired was that his schemes were “too complex” and the Cowboys needed something simpler.
After another defensive debacle, Jones has changed his tuned according to Cowboys Corner.
“We can do some things different out there,” he said after the Cowboys’ 45-28 loss to the Bears, the third time this year they allowed 40 or more points.
My quick first blush is we just need to take more risk. A more conservative approach like tonight, the results are going to be the same. So we’ve got to somehow try to get more turnovers.”
On my “first blush” I think the Cowboys have a lot of injuries and players are underperforming. In some cases players like #38 shouldn’t even be on the field, but they have no other options.
It is possible the Cowboys still make the playoffs, but it is hard seeing them making any noise if they can’t stop anyone defensively.
