Kellen Winslow Jr. loves to hear himself talk, so we can blame this gaffe on the fact that he knows no better.
The Jets are still mathematically in contention for a playoff spot, but that didn’t stop Winslow from making this statement.
“We’ve lost three straight, so, obviously [that’s] not good,” he said. “But we’ll go down swinging. We have to go to work. This is our job. It’s not like the season is over. It might be record-wise, but it’s still football. We still love it.”
Winslow then took to Twitter to give his prediction to Donte Stallworth about the AFC Title game.
Kellen Winslow Jr. tweeted his picks Monday night for the AFC and NFC title games. “I got the pats vs broncos in AFC championship game and Panthers vs Seahawks in NFC championship,” the Jets tight end said in a Twitter reply to free-agent receiver Donté Stallworth.
Although Winslow’s predictions aren’t all that surprising, he’s still part of a team that hasn’t — at least mathematically — been eliminated from playoff contention.
