If Joe Flacco wasn’t an official Dollarnaire for buying McDonald’s Chicken Nuggets after signing a $100 million contract, he definitely is now.
According to the Ravens official Flacco bought and played a Mega Millions ticket at a local Baltimore area 7-11. The Mega Millions jackpot was $648 million, and with NFL contracts not being guranteed, I can see why Flacco tried his hand at luck.
“It’s a lot of money, man,” Flacco said. “Since I’ve been 18 years old, I’ve always played the lottery when it gets up to a couple $100 million. It’s just for fun.”
A fan made Flacco’s Mega Millions attempt public when he took to Twitter with a photo of the Super Bowl MVP. The fan, Rob Owen’s even admitted that Flacco tried to jump him in line.
Rob Owen, 22, of Finksburg, Md., stopped in to buy a few mega millions tickets, but stood at the wrong cash register. As he went to another line, he was passed by a familiar face.
“The guy behind me beat me to the end of the line,” Owen said. “When I got there, I realized it was Joe. I was tongue tied.”
Flacco politely let Owen back in front of him.
“I couldn’t have him blaming me when I won and he lost and I didn’t let him back where he was supposed to be,” Flacco said.
How cool is that.
