Josh Smith and Maurice Cheeks seem to be headed towards a messy divorce, with the coach likely being the one to have to go.

Detroit Pistons head coach Maurice Cheeks has benched Josh Smith for a second time this season, this time Cheeks sat his supposed star small forward for an entire half.

Smith, who was awful in Saturday’s 106-82 loss to the Wizards, told the media that he was offended that Maurice Cheeks benched him again according to MLive.

“It’s an honor for me to play, you know what I’m saying?  So when anybody challenges — or anything about the fact that, you know, about me not wanting to play — then I take real offense to it,” Smith said.

Smith reportedly showed up to the ballgame vs the Wizards an hour before tip-off, and scored four points on seven shots in a horrible first half.
