Could the Chicago Bears be prepared to move on from Julius Peppers?
Although Peppers is under contract through 2015, he is currently projected to count $18.1 million against the Bears’ salary cap next season.
Peppers lead the Bears this year with 7.5 sacks, but isn’t nearly as dominant as he used to be. Peppers told ESPN Chicago he was unsure how things would work out.
“I’m not sure, I don’t know [what’s going to happen],” Peppers said. “I’m in a contract. You’ll need to talk to a decision-maker about that.”
The Bears seem like they have a salary cap mess on their hands.
