Last month it was reported that Texas A&M Head Coach Kevin Sumlin had agreed to a new 6 year extension with Texas A&M as rumors about the USC job swirled. Now his deal has been approved by the board of regents, some details have emerged, and it has been signed:
Kevin Sumlin has signed the new contract A&M approved today, per source. Unique buyout: $5 mil over 1st 3 yrs. 0 after. #Aggies

The interesting thing here is that it’s essentially a 3 year deal because thats when the buyout goes to 0. If A&M terminates him, the school has to pay him the remaining money in the deal within 60 days. Also it’s a great idea for him to get some extra money since he will probably lose Johnny Manziel this year.
