It’s been a pretty good year for Memphis head coach Josh Pastner. His 16th ranked Memphis Tigers are 6-1 with an impressive win over 7th ranked Oklahoma State. Now Pastner has set a school record after donating $250,000 to the university’s athletic department.
“Josh’s gift is the largest ever made by a Memphis coach and will be used for sport enhancements and improvements,” Memphis AD Tom Bowen said. “We are making great strides in building a culture of champions at the University of Memphis. As part of our strategic plan, we are working to enhance programs and facilities for all our student-athletes and sports.”
According to Bowen, Pastner’s donation is part of the university’s campaign to improve its athletic facilities, a $40 million undertaking. Memphis also received a $10 million donation from former Tigers basketball player Bill Laurie earlier this month.
