Miguel Cabrera is going back to first.

After switching over to the hot corner with Prince Fielder’s arrival, Miguel Cabrera will be going back to first now that Fielder is officially a Texas Ranger.

Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski was hesitant to confirm the news at first, but has since revealed that the Tigers are moving forward with switching Cabrera back.

The move back to first will give Cabrera a much needed breather, as he’s coming off a season in which he played with a nagging groin injury.

Nick Castellanos is slated to start at third on Opening Day.
