Injured Chicago Bulls superstar Derrick Rose has a lot to be concerned about with his health. It sounds like he may be telling people privately that he is also is concerned about the team’s future via the NY Daily News:
Rose has told several confidantes that he is worried that the Bulls will start to let the team hit the skids by allowing key players to leave via free agency, forcing him to go through a rebuilding program that he wants no part of.
“Derrick is worried that the Bulls are going to lose what they have,” said a league source. “He doesn’t want to go through rebuilding.”
The problem is as more time goes on with Loul Deng not getting his contract extension and the team being likely to get rid of Carlos Boozer’s contract, it looks exactly like the Bulls will enter a rebuilding phase without Rose. The other problem is the Bulls never really replaced their locally beloved “Bench Mob” but they do have up and comers like Taj Gibson and Jimmy Butler.
The biggest key with Rose as always will be his health. In the East with a healthy Rose, the Bulls should always be in contention.
