Tim Tebow isn’t the only Tebow family member that can make the seemingly impossible happen. TMZ is reporting that back on June 10, 2011 in Denver, CO,Tebow’s older brother Peter was pulled over for doing 90 MPH in an area restricted to only 45 all while driving in two lanes. This was during the time that Tim was the QB for the Denver Broncos. The report from the incident goes as follows:
When the cop approached the vehicle, he “observed that [Tebow’s] eyes were bloodshot and watery, his speech was slurred and mumbled and his pupils were enlarged.”
The officer asked Peter if he was on any medication, to which he replied … “Yeah, I had some Percocet earlier. I had 2 pills in the morning and the afternoon.”
He later stated, “I had 2 pills a couple hours ago.”
In the report, the cop says he also smelled booze on Peter’s breath … but Peter refused to take both a road sobriety test AND a blood alcohol test.
Peter, who was 26 at the time, was eventually arrested and hauled to a nearby station where he was booked. He was later charged with reckless driving and DUI.
Now for the regular folk, this would be a go straight to jail and collect nothing at all type of incident, but Peter made miracles happen. When he arrived at court, the DUI charge was dismissed and reckless driving reduced to speeding going over 20-24 mph over the limit. Peter had to pay $276 to the court and was home free.
Peter hasn’t made any statements regarding the incident, but he should do a PSA and give everyone his lawyer’s phone number for future reference.
