Not so fast with the whole running Chris Johnson out of town.
The Tennessee Titans have a new CEO, and he seems to have a different plan in mind. Tommy Smith is the teams new President and CEO.
On the heels of various reports that suggest the Titans would part ways with star running back Chris Johnson at the end of the season, Smith sat down with with Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean and said it was “premature” to suggest Johnson won’t be brought back — presumably at a reduced salary.
“Chris has done nothing but what he’s been asked to do there. He suits up and he plays every game,” Smith explained. “I think they need to figure out how to use him and his skill set better, but he has been a good teammate and a good player … We are evaluating each and every position on this team, and we are only going to keep players we think will contribute and earn their keep.”
Smith will have some decisions to make in the near future, that concern morn than just Chris Johnson.
