Charles Barkley Says Bulls Will Be Irrelevant Without Melo

Charles Barkey says Carmelo Anthony could make the Bulls relevant.

A day after La La said Melo will “definitely” stay in New York, Charles Barkley of TNT suggests Chicago will be irrelevant for a few years if they aren’t successful in signing Carmelo.

I think [Anthony] has got some flaws in his game on the defensive end and rebounding, but if you put him with [Joakim] Noah — Noah’s my favorite player — I think [coach Tom Thibodeau] would make him play defense,” Barkley said Monday on “The Waddle & Silvy Show” on ESPN Chicago 1000.

“But if the Bulls are going to be relevant the next few years, that might be a good pickup.”

Sources say Melo is more interested in Chicago than Los Angeles.
