Every good team could use a capable backup quarterback right?
Before leaving the Senior Bowl practices, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones told the media that the team is open to drafting a quarterback in the NFL Draft this May.
“You always have to be open to that,” Jones said. “Yeah, and whether it’s a guy ultimately one day, your future, even if its at some point it enables you to not have a better (more expensive) backup, that saves you money if you’re able to get on a guy like that, so we’re always open to it.”
The conversation has been ongoing since Tony Romo had to miss the season finale with a serious back injury. The Cowboys regardless of how much they love Romo will have to address the position at some point.
