Mayweather probably won’t announce his next opponent until around Super Bowl time and in the interim will be taking a trip to South Africa.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. will arrive in South Africa on Wednesday for a six-day visit that the government hopes will help “resuscitate” boxing in the country, according to a sports ministry spokesman.
South Africa’s sports ministry, which organized the trip, says Mayweather will visit Johannesburg, Cape Town, Bloemfontein and East London on the southeast coast, the city regarded as the hotbed of South African boxing.
