Say what you want about Tom Coughlin, but it seems the Giants and particularly owner John Mara love him.
Despite reshuffling most of their coach staff, the Giants love Coughlin, and according to the New York Daily News, Mara and Coughlin will start to discuss a contract extension.
“In terms of Tom’s future, we haven’t even had that discussion yet,” Mara said on ESPN Radio, via the New York Daily News. “He’s obviously going to be our coach here next year and hopefully for longer than that, but we haven’t sat down to even talk about that yet. I think he’s just focused on getting the team ready for next year.”
Couglin doesn’t deserve lame duck status, so the Giants simply need to work out an extension at this point.
