During a team meeting this morning with his players at Vanderbilt, James Franklin informed them that he will be leaving the school for Penn State. It was reported here at BSO on Wednesday that Franklin would be leaving for Penn State but things got a little interesting when the Vanderbilt Athletic Director refused to say he was leaving.
Now it’s official:
Welcome to James Franklin, the 16th head coach in @PennStateFball history! http://t.co/uXfjsejIiS

Franklin had done a great job at Vanderbilt going to three bowl games and winning 24 games in three years. However, when Penn State comes calling with a reported $4.5 million a year, it’s hard to turn that down.
Franklin had this to say:
“I can’t tell you how excited I am to come home,” James Franklin said in statement. “I grew up watching Penn State football.”
