Things are heating up for the Penn State coaching search. According to ESPN’s Joe Schad Miami’s Head Coach Al Golden could be meeting with Penn State today and has strong support:
Penn State source said Al Golden agreed to speak about the opening as early as today because "It would be coming home."

Some former PSU players are supportive of Golden because he understands the Penn State community, would be a willing fundraiser and…

Golden has such strong support since he went to Penn State and also spent a year as Linebackers coach under Joe Paterno in 2000. The school had previously said it wasn’t a requirement that the new coach have ties to the University but I am sure they prefer it.
Losing Golden would be a big blow to Miami who has improved every year under him.
