Geno Smith had an interesting rookie season. He helped his team to a surprising 8-8 record while putting up 3,046 passing yards with 12 touchdowns and 21 INTs. That wasn’t quite enough for Rex Ryan to commit to Geno for next season though according to the NY Daily News:
“We could say it, but with us, you can’t really say with any certainties on anything right now because you’re just starting the offseason,” Ryan said Friday when asked about the starting quarterback position, per Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.
“You don’t know what your roster is going to be. It’s probably not the best thing to say, ‘Hey, this guy is going to be a starter.’ Let’s let it play out.”
Well Geno might want to be on the lookout for the Jets to sign a QB this offseason. I am actually one of 13 people who think Geno needs more time though. The Jets could help him out by getting some legit weapons for him though.
