Troy Sophomore Defensive End Jadarius Garner was found dead on the side of the road early this morning on U.S. Highway 61 in Mississippi. Officers were called to the scene after a two car accident was reported. From the Dothan Eagle:
A report from the Mississippi Highway Patrol said Mississippi State Troopers, county deputies and rescue officials responded to what they thought was a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 61.
When they arrived around 2:30 a.m., they found the body of a pedestrian in the southbound lane. At least two vehicles had “traveled” over the body.
This is just awful. Garner’s body has been sent to Jackson, MS for an autopsy to determine cause of death. Troy AD John Hartwell:
“I can’t express how deeply saddened we are by the loss of Jadarius,” Troy AD John Hartwell said in a release. “Our hearts go out to his family, friends and teammates in this unimaginable time of pain, and we will do all that we can to help and support them.”
Garner was only 20 years old. What a tragic situation.
