Wes Welker: “I Feel Bad For The Patriots”

Why do I get the feeling that Welker made this statement with a huge grin on his face.

Welker is head back to another Super Bowl, this time with the Denver Broncos.  Welker also played a huge part in preventing the team that no longer wanted him, from reaching the Super Bowl as well.

Welker told USA Today that the victory is sweet, but he also feels bad for New England.

“It’s sweet, no matter what,” Welker said after the Broncos won the AFC title with a 26-16 victory. “Getting to go to the Super Bowl and having this opportunity, it doesn’t get any better than that.”

“Maybe a little bit,” Welker told USA TODAY Sports. “But I’ve got a lot of love for a lot of guys over there, and the organization and the team, a lot of respect. I feel bad for ’em. Because I’ve been in that situation that they’re in right now.”

I can’t feel bad for the Patriots.

Bill Belichick tried to replace his best offensive weapon with a cheaper, younger, and more fragile version of Welker. Unfortunately,  Danny Amendola simply didn’t fit the Bill.
