Tyler Ennis has been showing college basketball that Andrew Wiggins isn’t the only star Canadian freshmen. Ennis is averaging 12.1 points, 5.7 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
Every mock draft seems to have Ennis as a lottery selection in the upcoming draft. One NBA general manager went as far to say that Tyler Ennis is ahead of Kyrie Irving.
If you were to ask me right now whether I’d take Ennis over Kyrie Irving, I think it’s Ennis. He does all the things that help a basketball team win basketball games. You can pick him apart on individual flaws, but I would take this kid right now and trust him to run my team. I think there’s very few freshmen you could ever say that about.
Very bold statement, but it isn’t as far fetch as it may seem. Tyler Ennis has shown the ability to make others around him better, while Kyrie Irving hasn’t displayed that type of leadership at the NBA level.
