Kansas Jayhawks freshman sensation Joel Embiid has been struggling lately. He played just 18 minutes and scored six points in last night’s OT loss to rival Kansas State. Head Coach Bill Self is taking a look at the bigger picture and thinking of resting the big man:
“I’m not going to make one excuse for him, because if you’re out there, you have to [perform],” Self said, via ESPN.com. “But certainly he’s going to get some time off.”
Being without Embiid for an extended period of time will hurt he Jayhawks chances of a number 1 seed in the tournament but if they want to win it all, they need him to be health come March.
