Earlier in January, Paula Madison, the previous Los Angeles Sparks chairman, told the league that she will give up ownership of LA’s WNBA franchise.
However, Magic Johnson has come to the rescue with the help of his sidekick. Johnson and Los Angeles Dodgers chairman Mark Walter have teamed up together to buy the LA Sparks to save the struggling franchise, according to ESPN sources.
This will not be the first time that this duo has used their money power to save a team.
Johnson and Walter worked with a group of investors to buy the Dodgers in 2012 for $2.15 billion dollars.
The WNBA announced a press conference for Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET with Johnson and league president Laurel Richie outside of Staples Center.
The sign is showing up in the sky, Johnson and Walters are here to save the day.
