MS, Luck

Michael Sam is becoming a staple in the Sports world; he just announced that he is now openly gay. Along with his announcement, Michael Sam is also the first openly gay NFL prospect. Sam has been welcomed with open arms, with his Mizzou family being his biggest supporters.

NFL.com reported that during Mizzou’s home game against Tennessee, Sam received a standing ovation from the crowd, cheering in support of him. Sam and the rest of the Mizzou football team received recognition during halftime for their Cotton Bowl win. The students also “built” a human wall to drown out a local church that was denouncing him.

Its great seeing such support for him. Having the support of people behind you and not making you be afraid to be yourself, is an amazing feeling.
