Paula Dean

Someone has to take Paula Dean’s microphone from her.

Every time she speaks, she is putting her foot in her mouth. This isn’t the best way to make a comeback after offending a lot over the summer with her use of the N-word.

But, because this is America, she just received $75 million in funding for a new TV show, I would suggest whoever is financing her get her a PR person ASAP.  Here is what she had to say to People Magazine.

In the interview, the celebrity cook and restaurateur compared her recent struggles to those of college football player Michael Sam, who is the NFL’s first openly gay prospect.

“I feel like ‘embattled’ or ‘disgraced’ will always follow my name. It’s like that black football player who recently came out,” Deen said, according to TheWrap.com. “He said, ‘I just want to be known as a football player. I don’t want to be known as a gay football player.’ I know exactly what he’s saying.”

This is going to go over lovely.

What the fuck did she say that was so wrong? Is saying “that black football player who recently came out” wrong somehow? Mike Sam is black and he is gay, and he came out. What do you want?

  2. jerry jones says:

im a black man…explain what she said was wrong? we have to quit this racist undertone bullshit.

Being that she had a lot of racial issues with employees and others I don’t believe it was wise for her to bring any nationality into her interview especially when she is attempting a come back. It draws more attention to her past bad behavior. Lastly, I don’t believe racist in any way is BULLSHIT or do I believe you are a black man. Be Blessed.

#1 mr too real, you dont know me. #2 i dont see the racism in her statement. Im not saying she isnt a racist woman, however im simply referring to the statement. Quit being ignorant.

what was wrong with her comment? well maybe it was the fact that she said “black football player” instead of just “football player”. according to her OWN statement it’s bad enough that he just can’t be known as a “football player” and not “gay football player”. BUT, i guess she thought it SHOULD be made known he was black though. i mean it’s not like she ever said anything bad about black folk right???

  3. Truth says:

i think what he is trying to say is that it is so wrong that she compared herself to a gay player. he is trying to say ( i believe) that there is no way that her struggle compares to micheal sam , which i say is total BS. because ever since he came out has been getting nothing but press. his combine workouts were pretty shitty and he would have been ignored if he was any other player but because he came out he is being talked about constantly, and i know that he has probably gotten hate texts and stuff like that which is pretty bad , but deen probably has gotten just as many(granted she brought it on herself)

  4. TOO REAL says:

Really Paula – you obviously didn’t learn a thing.
