Someone has to take Paula Dean’s microphone from her.
Every time she speaks, she is putting her foot in her mouth. This isn’t the best way to make a comeback after offending a lot over the summer with her use of the N-word.
But, because this is America, she just received $75 million in funding for a new TV show, I would suggest whoever is financing her get her a PR person ASAP. Here is what she had to say to People Magazine.
In the interview, the celebrity cook and restaurateur compared her recent struggles to those of college football player Michael Sam, who is the NFL’s first openly gay prospect.
“I feel like ’embattled’ or ‘disgraced’ will always follow my name. It’s like that black football player who recently came out,” Deen said, according to TheWrap.com. “He said, ‘I just want to be known as a football player. I don’t want to be known as a gay football player.’ I know exactly what he’s saying.”
This is going to go over lovely.
