Early this morning, news broke that Raymond Felton had been arrested and charged on felony gun possession. Originally, the New York Post (and at this point only the Post) reported that Felton pointed the gun at his girlfriend. That would bring multiple problems considering he is still legally married even though his wife Ariane Raymondo-Felton filed for divorce last week.
The police are saying that Felton was arrested and charged with two felonies and a misdemeanor after his wife brought the gun into the police station to turn him in:
Felton was charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a firearm, which are felonies, and fourth-degree possession of a firearm, which is a misdemeanor, the spokesman said.
Sources say Felton’s wife, who filed for divorce last week after just 19 months of marriage, brought the gun to the police precinct and told authorities she had found it in her home.
Cold world out there since she turned him in. Hell has no fury like a woman scorned right?
Felton is due in court later today so there will be more details coming.
