Suns End Talks With Lakers For Pau Gasol

Well that ended fast.

Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times is reporting that the Phoenix Suns have walked away from discussions with the Lakers for Pau Gasol.

According to Bresnahan, Phoenix felt the Lakers were asking for to much.

The Phoenix Suns have stopped talks to acquire Pau Gasol because they feel the Lakers want too much for the veteran post player, according to a person familiar with the situation.

Phoenix could own four picks in the June draft, and the Lakers coveted one of the more valuable two — the pick the Suns could potentially get from Minnesota or the one they might receive from Washington.

There’s still 15 days until the trade deadline, which will allow Phoenix to see if Gasol is over his injuries woes, and figure out a better deal for better picks.
