You may not know of Nikita Krylov yet but you soon will. Krylov is from Ukraine and has only had 2 UFC fights to date but the 21-year old has some of the best raw talent in the sport.
So far the easiest guarantee in MMA is that a fight with Nikita Krylov isn’t going to the judges.
Krylov lost his UFC debut at UFC 164 and said that it was due to the fatigue he accumulated from traveling so close to his fight date. His next fight was a statement win and showed everyone that he meant business. Nikita knocked out Walt Harris 25 seconds into the first round. As a matter of fact 7 of Nikita’s 15 victories have occurred in the first round and in all 15 wins Krylov either KO’d his opponent or submitted them.
Krylov has fought in the heavyweight division during his short pro MMA career and he’s always been smaller than his opponents (He’s 6’3″ 210). Now Krylov will move down to the 205lb weight class to replace Thiago Silva, the much talked about former UFC competitor.
Krylov fought just weeks ago at UFC on Fox 10 but he’s used to staying active. His first year of pro MMA competition he fought 10 times in 12 months.
Krylov is built to be an oversized light heavyweight, not a small heavyweight. Don’t be surprised if this sparks a long winning streak for the 21 year old. He’ll be a guy you’ll see fighting for the title in a few years.
