Bernard Hopkins Says Ronda Rousey Could Beat Mayweather

Earlier in the week we reported that Ronda Rousey went on a radio show and vowed that she could be Floyd Mayweather in an MMA fight.

I wouldn’t even stand up, I wouldn’t even be anywhere near him. I would just do like a little army crawl over there, and he would have to run away. I would just be skittering after him like the one dude inBloodsport that was doing the whole monkey crawl fight system. I would do that. I would just bear crawl over there too low for him to hit me, and I’d tackle him down…. I spent a lot of time [on the ground], and I doubt that he does.

Today in Las Vegas as part of the Canelo Alvarez-Alfredo Angulo fight weekend festivities, Bernard Hopkins appeared on the 97.5 The Fans Jon and Sean Show.

Hopkins told my good friend Jon Marks that “Rousey would indeed beat Mayweather in an MMA match because Floyd would be out of his element.”

I wonder how pound-for-pound feels about all this slick MMA talk?

  • It’s too bad we will never see Mayweather vs. Bernard Hopkins. I think B-Hop could beat Floyd and I think Floyd knows it.

  • Bhop is a hater. He was angling to persuade Mayweather to fight him after Mayweather’s last fight. Big ass Hopkins volunteering to drop weight just so that he can get a payday – like someone wants to see his old ass fight again. Bhop is part of Goldenboy; all they ever claim is that they have the formula for Mayweather, and their fight still always loses.

Furthermore, an average boxer Gustafassin gave MMA’s lb 4 lb number 1 fighter Jones the business; even implying she’d have a chance is nonsense. If she crawls on the ground, you move around until she gets her ass up.
