These are not the Arizona Cardinals of old, so no one should laugh at Bruce Arians for making this comment.
No team has ever advanced to the Super Bowl in a season in which it was the host of the game. That didn’t stop Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians from saying that there was no reason his team couldn’t host and make it to Super Bowl XLIX next February.
I ain’t afraid of it,” Arians said, via the Cardinals’ official website. “We played well at the end of the season. If we can do that early, the confidence of the core of the team is back. Our leadership is back. We are talented enough. Talent is not the issue. I told them that last year but they didn’t believe me until it was too late.
“There is no reason we can’t be the first team to play a homeSuper Bowl. Absolutely no reason.”
The Cardinals are for real, and there’s no reason to think that they can’t duplicate the Seahawks Super Bowl run.
