The Houston Rockets are rolling, and don’t look now, but they are the No. 1 team in a lot of power rankings.
Following a thrilling, 118-113 overtime victory over the Blazers at Toyota Center on Sunday, the Rockets record is now a impressive 44-19 and have the fifth-best record in the NBA.
Add to that the two previous victories over Miami and Indiana, and you can see why Chandler Parsons told CSN Houston that the “Rockets are the best team in the NBA.”
“We think we’re the best team in the league,” Chandler Parsons said. “We’re going to go and prove it every single night. It’s a big win for us, but at the end of the day, it’s just one win against a good team. On to the next one. We don’t think we’re done. We’re not getting arrogant or conceited or anything. But we think we can play with anybody and we’ve proved that this week. It’s fun because we know we can even get better.”
“We just want to hold up that trophy come June,” Dwight Howard said. “We just have to stay humble, stay hungry and continue to do the small things that help us win games. Tonight was a tough test for us. I think early in the season, we probably would have lost this game. But we found a way to win. Not everybody had a good game particularly. James (Harden), he picked it up with his scoring, hit some tough shots. and Jeremy (Lin) had an amazing game. We cannot get cocky, we cannot lose our focus, that’s when you fail. We gotta stay humble.”
Houston is getting hot at the right time.
