The moment we’ve all been waiting for came on Wednesday morning when Chip Kelly addressed DeSean Jackson and the state of the Eagles at the Owner’s meetings in Orlando.
Kelly didn’t divulge much if anything over breakfast.
According to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News, Kelly confirmed he had a conversation with DeSean Jackson Monday night and Kelly reiterated his affinity for the Eagles’ star wideout.
Kelly didn’t deny the Eagles have tried to trade or will trade Jackson, and explained it best by saying that “the organization will do what’s best for the team.”
“We had a good conversation. We’re always going to do what’s best for the football team,” Kelly said. “I think he knows where we are, and I know where he is. I feel very comfortable about it.”
When asked what Jackson means to the offense, Kelly answered that the offense isn’t predicated on one player.
