I know one Saints radio guy who disagrees with this, but we’ll see.
Malcolm Jenkins flew the Saints coop and is now a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. Jenkins filled a big hole in a Eagles secondary that hasn’t had a caliber of player their since Brian Dawkins.
Jenkins isn’t Dawkins but he’s seen some big moments.
The newest addition to the Eagles says he’s here to lead, and he’s not your prototypical safety.
“I’m a natural born leader. I’ve been a captain on every team I’ve been on,” he said
“”I’m not your typical safety. I’m more of that hybrid that the league is moving to. You need guys who can be versatile,” Jenkins explained in a media session on Wednesday evening. Jenkins’ versatility figures to be a key reason why the Eagles were so eager to target him. As a skilled player with the talent and versatility to line up in a number of places on the field, Jenkins seems like the perfect fit for what the Eagles desire.
Jenkins signing was met with a mixed reaction. Those who’ve been around him say he’s not a playmaker.
