SEC Defensive Player of the Year Michael Sam hoped to better his NFL prospects during Mizzou’s pro day after a disappointing performance at the league’s combine.
Sam improved on his 4.91 40-time by clocking a 4.7 during his first run before pulling up lame. He would not complete his 2nd attempt.
Sam also weighed in at 263 pounds and did 19 bench press reps.
Michael Sam right around 4.7. Much better than his combine number.

Michael Sam says he has a tight hamstring but is going to warm-up again for the rest of the drills. Will at least do the vertical. #Mizzou — Ashley Colley (@ashleycolley) March 20, 2014
